The diet of a yogi contains foods that can provide a body with energy. These are fruits and vegetables, which are grown in a natural and safe way. Honey, nuts and dairy products are also included in yoga nutrition plan. Healthy and well-balanced nutrition improves an immune system, prevents aging, stresses and various diseases.
Naturalness. Yoga diet includes natural foods. A yogi doesn’t eat foods that contain preservatives and various chemicals. Also, yoga diet doesn’t include thermally processed foods. The main rule of yoga dies says "don’t eat the product if you don’t know what it contains". A yogi can eat only healthy and natural products!
Freshness. A yogi prefers to eat fresh foods, which are full of vitamins and nutrients. It would be expedient to refuse from thermally processed foods and eat more fresh products. Meal that is stored in the fridge and thermally processed foods don’t provide a body with energy. Such products don’t nourish the body. Moreover, they toxify it.
Don’t eat too much! About 50% of a stomach has to be filled with food. About 25% of a stomach has to be filled with water. About 25% of a stomach has to be empty. When your stomach is overfilled with food the metabolism process slows down.
Moreover, you will be sleepy and weak. This can be explained by the fact that an organism consumes too much energy to digest high amounts of food. Weakness leads to decrease in physical activity and gaining excess weight. Fast food is also not appreciated. Intervals between meals should be at least 3 hours.
Yoga diet excludes alcohol, caffeine and other stimulators. Small amounts of spices can be included in the diet. However, spices are often not used in the food preparation process.
You should have proper eating habits. Eat slowly and chew food thoroughly. When you chew food it is mixed with saliva. So, the food becomes easy to digest. As a result, an organism gains the maximal benefits from food consumed.
Don’t forget that the correct eating must become a habit. You should always try to find the harmony in all aspects of your life. Acting in such a way, you will manage to get effective and permanent results within a short period of time.
